About Helen M. Hogan
Helen M. Hogan is a creative storyteller with a heart for inspiring young readers through tales of love, friendship, and imagination. Her book MoneyPenny: The Magic Cat brings to life the adventures of a special feline who touches hearts and sparks wonder in every reader.
Helen’s writing reflects her deep appreciation for the simple joys that connect people and pets, reminding us of the magic found in everyday moments.
Helen’s love for animals began almost as soon as she could walk. She thanked grownups politely for giving her dolls, but the toys were soon set aside. Instead, she dressed her grandmother’s kittens in those tiny doll outfits, tucked them gently into last year’s Easter basket and hung the basket from the handlebar of her tricycle. She proudly toured the neighborhood with her kitten passengers, beginning a lifelong journey of caring for animals of every kind.
Why I Wrote MoneyPenny The Magic Cat
Helen wrote MoneyPenny to honor the comfort and quiet courage that animals bring into the world. Her goal was to share stories that help children and families talk about loss, hope, friendship and emotional healing. She believes that animals often understand us better than we realize and that stories about them can gently guide readers toward kindness and resilience.
